Conquest

Yesterday, I ruled an empire vast,
Today, it is a ruin of the past

Yesterday, there were words of love you'd say,
Today, you can not stand to look my way

I once basked in wondrous glory,
Hundreds of servants, a gilded throne,
I felt like I was the luckiest soul,
When you declared your love for me

You said you'd spend your life with me, my dear,
I thought my empire would last a thousand years

Yesterday, I had power and fame,
Today, there is nothing to my name

Yesterday, you could not leave me alone,
Today, it seems your heart is made of stone
